I'm a Christian. I work in the mission field. I go to church, I pray, I read the Bible...
But, sometimes, I get ashamed to tell people these things. NOT because I'm ashamed of Jesus or my faith.
But because I'm ashamed of the people who are the loudest, most-outspoken "Christians".

I'm not saying I'm perfect. I cuss, I get angry, I throw crap, I hold grudges, I'm lazy, and I sin.
But, really?! These people need to S H U T I T.

I think that I know what you mean, as I often feel the same way in regards to certain famous (& infamous) Black folks, when they do dumb or evil stuff in public. Like Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift @ the MTV Awards. Or when I first heard that about the Ft. Hood shooting, my immediate thought was "I hope the shooter is not Black."
Now, as for the folks you mentioned, only Prejean is the one that I think you really have a cause to be concerned about. As a confirmed Heathen, I can tell you that I do not think that most people really associate the others with "Christianity," necessarily.
In the case of Spiedy & Lindsay Lohan's father, they are just looked @ as attention-whores, faux-celebrities who will do anything to be in the spotlight. The fact that they occasionally like to proclaim their love of Jesus, despite not acting very Christ-like @ all, is just one of many aspects of their personalities that annoys people. So I do not think that reflects on anyone but themselves.
With Prejean, it is a little different. Now, I thought that th way that the situation with her unfolded was unfortunate. First, I do think that the judge should have asked her a question about gay marriage. Perez Hilton, who is just a scummy gossip-monger, was clearly trying to promote an agenda, and was expecting her to give a politically correct answer.
Personally, I am all in favor of gay marriage, and voted against Prop. 8 last year, but if she disagrees, I think she has the right to that opinion, nor should be attacked for answering honestly, especially considering that the majority of California voters agreed with her. But the first problem was that she did not express herself very well. She could have phrased it differently.
But then after that she went from just being someone with an opinion, to becoming an activist, by specifically aligning herself with various anti-gay groups, and trying to present herself as some kind of religious martyr, who was persecuted by the gay mafia. Strongly implying that she lost the beauty pageant just because of her answer, as if she was guaranteed to win before that. But by taking the strong stand on the issue, she opened herself up to greater scrutiny, which lead to charges of hypocrisy when things like her having filmed herself naked, and getting breast implants came out.
